About Us


The County of Franklin Industrial Development Agency (CFIDA) is a public benefit corporation created under Article 18A of the General Municipal Law of New York State.  Under the law the CFIDA is empowered to actively promote, encourage, attract and develop job and recreational opportunities and economically sound commerce and industry throughout Franklin County.   This charter extends to the CFIDA'S vision statement to promote the economic well being of the citizens of Franklin County.

The CFIDA achieves this vision through stated organizational objectives as articulated in its Strategic Management Objectives and regional objectives as outlined in the County of Franklin Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. 

As a public benefit corporation, the Agency is entrusted to maintain a process that is open and transparent to the public when it employs it capabilities and resources toward sound investments into Franklin County.

Franklin County Local Development Corporation


Complementing the powers of the IDA is the Franklin County Local Development Corporation (LDC) a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with a charter under the laws of New York State.  The Local Development Corporation provides several of the debt and equity sources of funds.  The LDC is entrusted with similar openness and transparency.
