Harrietstown Business Park

Town Logo

The Town of Harrietstown Business Park is a very unique place.  It is situated in the center of the Tri-Lakes Region of the Adirondacks, just 5 miles from downtown Saranac Lake; 12 miles from Lake Placid; 18 miles from Tupper Lake; 45 miles from Lake Champlain and Plattsburgh.  Burlington, VT; Albany, NY and Montreal, QC are approximately 2 hours driving time.  Unlike other business parks it is not the big brick building with acres of black top parking.  It is unique in its character, its natural appearance, clean air and access to a great quality of life.

The Park sits on over 100 acres of developed and natural wooded land. The Park has been developed gradually and has 7 designated, surveyed and approved "BUILD NOW" New York sites currently available. There are other areas that adjoin those seven sites which are in the process of being made ready for sale.  While they are not yet site approved, they are available.  These "BUILD NOW" New York sites are also a part of the "START UP New York" program for economic development associated with North Country Community College.  The entrance road is paved and maintained by the Town of Harrietstown.  The entrance of the Park has fiber optic service, Time Warner Cable and Verizon.

The Park currently has two tenants (either of which may be contacted for their evaluation of business operation in the Park):

* Bionique Testing Laboratories - a science-based company, employing a professional staff of 21
* The Adirondack ARC - a human resources provider providing service to those with developmental needs, employing a staff of 38

Educational Opportunities:  The Tri-Lakes Region provides a full range of educational facilities including Saranac Lake Central School District (Pre-K through 12); two colleges - North Country Community College and Paul Smiths College, both in very close proximity to the Business Park.  Both institutions provide quality higher education programs attracting students from all over the United States as well as a host of international students.  Also, within easy driving distance are several SUNY colleges including Plattsburgh, Clinton Community College, Potsdam, Canton and Clarkson University.

Recreational Opportunities:  There is something to do 12 months of the year within short driving distance in the Tri-Lakes!  The Village of Saranac Lake provides downhill skiing and tubing at Mount Pisgah and is equipped with a chair lift.  Dewey Mountain, owned by the Town of Harrietstown and operated by Adirondack Trails and Outfitters, provides groomed cross country skiing and snow shoeing in the winter, as well as hiking and trail biking in the summer.  Both facilities have full service lodges that include a wide range of education and training seasonal programs.  Dewey Mountain ski programs have helped produce four Olympic medalists including a GOLD medal won by Bill Demong in the 2012 Winter Olympics.

Saranac Lake continues to host the oldest Winter Carnival in the United States.  Additional Tri-Lakes Region events include NCAA Hockey, Iron Man, Tin Man, International Can-Am Rugby tournament, a variety of World Cup events, International Horse show competitions, National Lacrosse competitions, live theater and national and international cultural and art events and activities.

Our Belief:  Our area is rich in history, but has kept pace with social and every day needs.  We believe the Tri-Lakes Region is a great place to work, live, play and grow your business.  At the same time, it is our strong belief, that the opportunities of our region will not only meet, but exceed generational needs for a rounded, fulfilling and rich life.
